Scottish Landscape Photo Print of Loch Lomond
Tree at Firkin Point
The Firkin Point Tree is on the west shore of Loch Lomond to the right of the Firkin Point car park just off the footpath, which is popular with walkers and cyclists. The path runs between Balloch and Tarbet and is the next stopping point after Luss if heading north.
The tree roots are exposed during the summer but are submerged during the winter giving the appearance that it is floating on the loch. The exposed root system has hindered the tree’s development and contributed to its knarled shape. A much loved and often visited icon of Loch Lomond.
